They are proactively visiting and meeting with wineries and importers globally, collectively tasting 20,000 wines per year to find the best 3,000 wines to submit to our expert judging panel.
Our judging panel, including a Master of Wine and a Master Sommelier, then select the 1,000 wines per year that we make available as one of our daily offers, and the 40 that we carry in our store.
We only feature wines that our entire panel agrees is above 90 points, so that every wine we select over-delivers for quality and value.
Matt Deller, MWChief Wine OfficerMatt is one of only 41 Masters of Wine in the U.S.. He judges international wine competitions such as Decanter World Wine Awards, TEXSOM International Wine Competition and the Sydney International Top 100 Wine Awards, is an Instructor on the faculty of the Napa Valley Wine Academy, and an expert panelist at several international wine events and writes for various wine publications.
Vanessa ConlinVice President – WineVanessa has been head of sales and marketing for several of Napa’s most prestigious estates including Arietta Wines, Dana Estates, and Realm Cellars. Previously she was a retail buyer and wine bar Wine Director in New York. She is a Napa charity auction Chairperson and holds the WSET Diploma. She is enrolled in the Institute of Masters of Wine program as a stage-two candidate.
Sur Lucero, MSVice President - WineSur Lucero is a Master Sommelier and the fourteenth Krug Cup recipient, passing all three sections of the exam, on his first attempt. Previously National Director for Wine Education at Jackson Family Wines, he has been wine director or sommelier at restaurants such as The French Laundry and Meadowood. In 2011 Wine & Spirits Magazine named Lucero one of the Top New Sommeliers.
