Our Bicycle Restoration Process

The Pro’s Closet is the largest online used bicycle store. Operating in the used marketplace adds a level of complexity that most online stores don’t experience. While we buy and sell used bikes, we do not flip bikes. Actually, our team of highly trained mechanics restores bicycles. Anyone who buys a bike from TPC can be assured that they are purchasing a high quality pre-owned bicycle.

On the most basic level, the mechanic’s daily workflow consists of taking a bicycle completely apart, cleaning, greasing, rebuilding, and testing. Below, we will walk through a bicycle restoration with our lead mechanic, Nate Straus.

A look inside The Pro's Closet

In 2006, while living in his Volkswagen Bus and only the task of riding a bike on his to-do list, Nick Martin began a simple mission: sell all of his worldly possessions on eBay. Minus his bike and his bus, Nick sold everything.

Fast-forward to today and we present to you, The Pro’s Closet. The Pro’s Closet has become the nation’s premier eBay store specializing in reselling new and used cycling gear.

If you are looking to sell your bike, components, or accessories, we are here to help! The Pro’s Closet caters to clients both locally and nationwide offering pickups, consultations, expert advice and more. We are an avenue for anyone, (athletes, teams, shops, reps, companies, you) to free up space and put your unused product in the hands of people who will give it a second life.
