Management Aptitude Test or MAT is a National-level exam for post-graduates through which candidates can apply for MBA and other allied courses in more than 600 B-schools throughout the country. If you are planning to appear for AIMA MAT 2018, read this post to find out all that you should know.

The All India Management Association or AIMA as it is popularly called, conducts MAT or Management Aptitude Test 4 times in a year. On the basis of the score a candidate gets in the MAT, they can then get admission in MBA or other allied courses in more than 600 B-schools of India. The exam is conducted online (computer-based) as well as offline (paper-pencil) mode. Candidates can select any one mode or even give both online and offline exam.

Graduates from any discipline and even students who are in the final year of graduation can take this exam. There is no age limit for the exam, and it is held in more than 50 cities throughout the country. The next AIMA MAT 2018 exam would be held on 2nd September (offline) and 15th September (online).

Syllabus of AIMA MAT 2018

The MAT entrance is a general aptitude test which is divided into five sections- Language Comprehension, Global Environment, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, and Intelligence and Critical Reasoning. While the MAT syllabus for 2018 is vast, it is generally not a very difficult exam to crack.

MAT Exam Pattern

The MAT exam pattern covers 200 multiple choice questions which the candidates are required to answer within 150 minutes. Each section has 40 questions. Every right answer means +1 mark, and every wrong answer means -1/4th mark.

Why candidates opt for online as well as the offline exam?

Every candidate who selects online or offline mode of examination gets to send their MAT marks to five management institutions. However, by paying an additional fee, candidates can give online as well as an offline exam. With this, students get to send their marks to two additional institutions.

How to apply for MAT 2018?

Candidates can apply for MAT 2018 September exam by visiting the official website of AIMA. The online platform offers multiple payment options like credit/debit card and net banking to pay fees and register for the exam.

Along with the fees, the candidates are also required to provide their email address, scanned copy of their signature, and scanned copy of their passport-size photo. Copy of post-graduation certificate and other proofs related to academic credentials also need to be submitted at the time of registering.

Important dates

For the offline AIMA MAT 2018 entrance exam, the last date for registration is 28th August 2018. The same for the online exam is 8th September 2018. After successful registration, the candidates can get their admit card online from the official website of AIMA. The admit card would be made available on 15th August 2018 for the offline exam and 11th September 2018 for the online exam.

MAT Results

The MAT September results are expected to be released on 21st September 2018. Once the results are released, candidates can download the same from the AIMA website.
