I was a homicide prosecutor in Los Angeles for 36 years. I tried over 100 murder trials and I carried a Ghurka No. 34 Expediter into every courtroom. My first Expediter was khaki twill. A few years later Ghurka introduced a leather Expediter and I purchased the tan bag shown in the photo. After many years of wear and tear, I retired the tan bag and purchased my third Expediter in chestnut.

The tan bag was special. It was my co-counsel in many tough cases. I kept it under my desk for years. And then I discovered Alvin in the Ghurka Repair Department.

When my daughter graduated from law school, I gave her the tan Expediter that Alvin had so beautifully reconditioned. Now, as an Assistant District Attorney, my daughter carries my old Ghurka Expediter into the courtrooms of lower Manhattan to try her cases.
