Hello everyone, my name is Janice and dance is life! I started dancing when I was 5 years old; from traditional Chinese dance, to ballet, hip-hop, and contemporary. Dancing throughout my whole life has made me into the person I am today. I believe that when I am moving my body, it is a form of expression. I can feel the music beating in inside my heart and letting go of my feeling freely to the outside world.

Throughout my middle school and high school years, there was a point that I felt like I was losing myself. With a lot of stress built up from parents, school, and drama, I felt hopeless. Many people told me that going to the gym would be a good way to release these negative energies, but the gym was not for me. Dancing is what I love the most, so this is a form of "medicine" to cure my "sickness" away. "Just shake it off, shake it off," like what Taylor Swift song sang.

My passion for dance has followed me throughout my high school years; I became part of Skyline High School's Dance Production. I have created many choreographies on my own and taught them to my fellow classmates. Everyday after school, we would practice the dance routines until it is perfect. It requires a lot of time and dedication to memorize 10 different choreographies that will be performed on the same day, back-to-back. It's tiresome, but in the end, it's all worth it. I am proud of myself and my classmates for not giving up on what they love doing.

Dancing gave me life into this world; made me mentally and physically healthier. You do not need to be buff or be skinny to be "fit", as long as you are happy about yourself and your body, that is the definition of healthy.
